What are slow WhatsApp replies costing you?
Four numbers, one estimate. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored.
About $1,800 a month is sitting in enquiries you do not answer within the hour.
That is about 12 customers a month, and $21,600 over a year.
Based on 40 enquiries a month you do not reach in time. This assumes an enquiry you do not answer within the hour is lost. Some of them come back, so read this as the size of the risk, not as a bill.
Why the gap is usually bigger than it feels
Most sellers judge their response time by the messages they remember answering. The ones that hurt are the ones you never really saw: the 9pm question about whether something is in stock, the Sunday afternoon enquiry about delivery, the message that arrived while you were serving somebody at the counter.
Those do not feel like missed sales, because nothing visibly went wrong. The customer simply asked someone else and you never heard about it. That is what the slider above is trying to make visible.
Why an hour matters more than a day
Someone messaging a shop on WhatsApp is usually deciding right then. They are comparing two or three sellers, and the answer that arrives first shapes the decision, often before the others reply at all. A good answer twelve hours later is competing against a purchase that already happened.
This is also why an away message helps less than people hope. It stops the silence, which is worth something, but it does not answer the question that would have closed the sale. If you want the messages themselves, our auto reply generator will write them for you.
What to do with the number
Compare it against what you already spend to create those enquiries. Most businesses are paying for ads, listings or shelf space to get someone to message them, then losing a share of them at the last step, which is the cheapest place in the whole funnel to fix.
Start with the free things. Set a greeting message and an away message so nobody meets silence. Save quick replies for the questions you answer constantly. Then, if your enquiries are mostly about stock, price and delivery, the remaining gap is the one that needs a real answer at 9pm rather than a placeholder.
